Button’s essays have found homes in The New York Times, Longreads, HuffPost, The Rumpus, Hippocampus, Pangyrus, Cognoscenti and others. Her fiction and non-fiction have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and appeared in several literary anthologies. Recently her work was named finalist in The Rumpus Prize, The Annie Dillard Prize (Bellingham Review) and The Iowa Review Award.

She has appeared on PBS in Stories from the Stage; her video has been watched over one million times on Facebook. She is a graduate of Grub Street’s Essay and Memoir Incubators, and attended the Vermont Studio Art residency, among others.

At Boston Children’s Hospital Button helps raise money to save children and family from devastating diseases. In her earlier career she romped across six continents, speaking on creativity and creating award-winning ad campaigns for television. She lives in New England with her beautiful, sprawling, complicated family.

She holds a 5th degree black belt in taekwondo.
